Reward for Judge’s Son Hit and Run Fatal Accident Information

David Pregerson, who was only twenty-three years old was tragically killed on December 27, 2013 around three in the morning. He was walking home from a bar and was killed in a hit and run accident along the Chautauqua Boulevard.

Now a $100,000 reward for any information that could help find his killer. David was an aspiring film director and had graduated from UCLA film school.

LA City Councilman Mike Bonin weighs in on the hit and run

In a story that is far too common for Los Angeles, the perpetrator who hit him drove off, did not render aid, did not call authorities, did not identify him or herself and did not help in any way.

On the Wednesday after David‘s death, his father and grandfather both appeared before the council and asked for help in finding their beloved sons/grandson’s killer. Both men are prominent judges. The LA City Council agreed and set up a $50,000 reward and David’s family is also offering $50,000 reward for any information which brings the total to $100,000.

US District Court Judge Dean Pregerson, David’s family

I’ve been a federal judge for 17 years and I’m used to dealing with a lot of tragedies and a lot of sad things, and I find myself at a loss for words when something like this strikes so close to home. I think there are parents in that community that know what happened, I think there are neighbors who saw kids wash cars, or have very strong suspicions about who was involved.

Police suspect that whoever killed David lives close to the crime scene. Since it’s a residential street and it was three in the morning.
