Unknown Cause of Vehicle Crash Kills a Young Woman
On Sunday, April 13 a twenty-one year old woman sadly died after her car had overturned on State Route 78 in the San Marcos area. The car had hit a tree as it overturned.
According to the California Highway Patrol Officer, Jim Bettencourt, the young woman who was driving the 1997 Acura CL was heading West around two:twenty in the morning. That is when she sadly lost control of her vehicle as she was trying to change lanes near the San Marcos Boulevard.
California Highway Patrol Officer also stated that the car had veered to the right then she hit the shoulder of the road and overturned. What happened next is that the car hit a tree then landed upside down. According to the California Highway Patrol, the young woman died at the scene of the accident.
Luckily there were no other passengers in the vehicle during the accident. There were also no other cars involved in the crash. According to the California Highway Patrol, they do not know if there were any connection to drugs or alcohol that might have caused the accident. The crash is still being investigated.
