Bus Crash Injures 3 People

Crashes are always scary. There’s always a million questions involved, no matter what type of crash. Who’s at fault? Was the person sober or under the influence? Was this just a freak accident? All of those and more are always asked. When a big vehicle crashes, you hope that there’s no casualties, but it can always happen.

There are at least three people injured after a multi-vehicle crash. The crash involved an overturned bus on the southbound Interstate 5.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) as well as the San Diego Fire-Rescue crews, there was a charter bus that collided with several other vehicles. This happened at around 10:30 in the late evening and near the merge between I-5 and Interstate 805.

The driver of the bus was luckily all alone in the bus at the time of the accident. The driver had to be taken to the Scripps La Jolla due to minor injuries.

There were two people in another vehicle that were both luckily able to walk away from the crash. CHP had to close multiple southbound lanes so that they could investigate. The lanes were luckily reopened before the busy early morning commute.

Dump Truck and Bus Crash

It’s not everyday that you hear about a dump truck and a charter bus crash, but it happens. Which honestly, if you think about it, they probably run the same early routes a lot of the time so it’s uncommon for them to cross paths.

According to California Highway Patrol, a dump truck and a charter bus and a car all collided on Interstate 880. .

CHP reports stated that the dump truck had blew a tire around 9:30 that morning. It happened near the Dixon Landing Road off ramp.  The tire blowout caused the big rig to travel across the freeway lanes. The truck then crashed into the charter bus as well as a Nissan Versa.

Luckily, there were only minor injuries reported in the incident. However, CHP said that they had to shut down several lanes which caused the northbound motorists to slow down a bit. The closures happened for more than three hours while the tow trucks worked to remove the damaged vehicles from the freeway. All of the lanes were cleared by late afternoon though.
