Head-On Bus Collision Injures 7 people
A head on crash between a bus and an SUV doesn’t sound like it would end well for anyone. A bus is pretty huge and has a lot of power behind it. However in this one recent crash it could have ended way worse for those involved. According to reports, there was an accident where there was a head on crash between an SUV and a bus. The female driver of the bus as well as the five passengers were injured, along with the SUV driver. The all reportedly suffered minor injuries.
According to the Metro’s, Paul Gonzales, the collision happened when the Metro Line 165 bus had been struck by the Eastbound SUV on Vanowen street near the Winnetka Avenue around eight forty that night.
The report stated that the roadwork on Vanowen had reduced the four lanes to two. It appeared that the SUV had struck the K-rail before crossing the center line and then collided with the bus.
Lt. Warren Jones of the Los Angeles Police Department Valley Traffic Division stated that the male driver of the Chevrolet Suburban, SUV was being investigated for driving while intoxicated. However, no arrest has been made yet. Gonzales also said that the bus had sustained a broken windscreen and some front-end damage from the head-on collision impact.
Slick Road Conditions Causes Tour Bus Crash
The tour bus crash on December 23, 2013 made the fourth crash in a week. A tour bus was traveling back from a southern California Casino. The bus crashed on the freeway east of Los Angeles. The incident happened early Monday and injured thirteen people.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer, the bus had went off the should of the interstate 10 off-ramp, just after 4:30 that morning. The bus wheels went into a small drainage ditch. It finally came to rest when it hit the fence and a light pole, thankfully the bus remained upright.

Eleven people received minor injures and two more people received moderate injures, making a total of thirteen people injured. The Los Angeles County fire department reported that one person had a broken arm.
Forty people were on board the tour bus when it crashed. They were all briefly trapped by a blocked door before the rescue workers were able to free them.The accident did not stop freeway traffic, the freeway remained open.
This accident came just four days after three other bus crashes on rain-slick southern California freeways. Those accidents killed two people and injured dozens more! After a bus was doing 65 mph on slick roads, two dozen people were hurt. Khang Tieu who was ninety-one years old ended up dying Thursday night.
At about the same time as that crash, about 50 miles away, another bus…also heading to a casino, had overturned on the freeway near Fallbrook. This accident killed Tayde Murguia and 19 others were injured.
At least fourteen other people were hurt Thursday morning near the Perris in Riverside County. A Transit bus slid sidways and hit a car that was traveling in the opposite direction. That car then hit by a tow truck!
