Vehicle Collision Shatters Post Office Window

On Monday, March 10 two vehicles collided in Sherman Oaks. One of the vehicles crashed into the front of a post office center which was next to a shoe repair business.

Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department stated that Firefighters went to the 4300 block of Van Nuys Boulevard just after 7 that morning.

The drivers of the vehicles in the crash (a man and a woman) were both taken to a nearby hospital then treated for their “non-life-threatening” injuries.

According to the report, the vehicle that went up onto the sidewalk after the collision, shattered a window and also punched a hole into a small section of an exterior wall. The accident happened at Dickens Box, 4335 Van Nuys Blvd. which is at the corner of Dickens Street which is just one block south of Ventura Boulevard.

Post Office Damage

The window that shattered was a front window of the post office, the section where the post office boxes are located. The shoe repair business next door did not have any damage done to it.

Luckily, the damage to the building seemed to be pretty minor. There was a green notice that was placed on the wall by the City Building and Safety Officials that showed that the window would have to be replaced but there were no serious structural damage done to the building.
