Car Crash In Los Angeles

Car Crash Causes Brush Fire

Fire with a car crash can happen. Usually authorities rush in case that happens. There’s gas, electrical and sparks and it’s just a huge combination of deadly.

Recently, a crash in Los Angeles County caused a brush fire due to some wind the fire quickly spread. California is rather dry so it’s understandable that a fire anywhere can take a scary turn. The crash made the police temporarily shut down all lanes of the highway and they had to order mandatory evacuations.

The fire was reported along the southbound State Route 14. That’s near Santa Clarita. According to the fire officials that’s just thirty miles north of downtown Los Angeles. Too close for comfort I bet.

The fire quickly grew pretty quickly, according to reports it was more than 1 square mile. It grew fast by dry brush and driven by dry winds and the stifling heat. One structure was destroyed by the fire, reports didn’t say if it was a home or not though.

Crash Causes Fire

The fire officials said that the fire was around 70 percent contained by 7 p.m. by Sunday. There were reportedly more than 200 firefighters there still fighting the fire. Captain Keith Mora, Spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department, said that there were four helicopters and two air tankers also there to help fight the fire.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies helped the residents of around 100 homes evacuate, just to be safe.

Residents of Disney Ranch, Tenderfoot Trail Road, Running Horse Road and Placerita Canyon Road all had mandatory evacuations.

Luckily the evacuation orders weren’t expected to last too long, they were expected to be lifted by 10 p.m. that night.

Ambulance and Car Crash

When you think of a car crash you think of an ambulance and probably a fire truck and police. However, you rarely picture them being apart of the crash but it definitely happens.

Recently, a car and an ambulance crashed in Pacoima. The crash left two firefighters as well as two other people injured.

According to reports, the crash happened around 10:55 in the morning at the intersection of San Fernando Road and West Osborne Street.

The Los Angeles Fire officials said that a car was stopped at the red light when an ambulance was trying to drive around it. The light turned green so the car began to drive through that is when the two vehicles crashed. They crashed so hard that the impact sent the car into a metal sign at a KarPlus Warehouse, which is ironically an auto dealership.

At the time of the incident, the ambulance was carrying a female patient. There were also two firefighters in the ambulance. The two firefighters, the female patient all had to be transported to the local hospital for injuries. Luckily, they were all in fair condition.

The driver of the car was a male and he scarily, became trapped and had to be cut from the car. He also had to be take to the hospital but he had serious injuries.

The Los Angeles Police are still investigating the exact cause of the crash.

Road Rage Crash

Road rage can be pretty serious. If you’re on the receiving end of someone who has road rage it can probably be really scary!

Recently a case of road rage broke out between a motorcyclist and a driver of a sedan. That set off a chain reaction crash. That crash led to an overturned truck. Now the police are searching for the rider of the motorcycle.

The incident happened just before six o’clock in the morning and apparently in the carpool lane of the southbound 14 freeway. Another driver was able to catch the whole incident on video.

On the video, you can see the motorcycle driver driving up beside the sedan and kick at the side of the car. The sedan swerves to miss the kick and hits the median. The sedan then ricochets into the right lanes and into a white truck. The car then flips and lands on it’s roof!

The motorcyclist is seen fleeing from the seen. Luckily, the driver of the truck, who was just minding his own business and on his way to work, is okay. He was in the crash but suffered no major injuries.

Police say that this was reported to the California Highway Patrol as a hit and run incident and that they are looking for the driver of the motorcycle.

The driver of the Cadillac Escalade, Carlos Benavidez got with local news to make a Statement.

Benavidez Statement:

When I felt the impact, and my truck spun out beside me,  and I started to roll. I saw nothing but asphalt and sky.  And then, coming to rest, and I looked around to see, and I was still breathing. To me that was a plus.

The motorcyclist had passed the guy who had shot the video, due to the motorcyclists behavior the video-er decided to get his phone out.

The motorcycle was swerving in and out of lanes and a Nissan’s driver tried to get out of the carpool lane. He bumped the motorcycle. The video-er doesn’t know if this was on purpose or not, but that’s when the two men started arguing. The biker then kicked the car door.

Video-er’s Statement:

I’m sure the guy on the motorcyclewas scared and totally startled because he almost went down and I’m sure his adrenaline kicked in.
