Head On Collision Blocks Traffic and Injures Several People

According to a California Fire Official On State Route 76 in Pauma Valley there was a head on collision that seriously injured one person and put four other people in the hospital.

The California Fire Battalion Chief Nick Schuler stated that the crash was reported just east of the Valley Center Road around 10:40 that morning, when a white Toyota 4 Runner had crossed into the Eastbound lanes that collided with a Maroon Chevrolet pickup.

All of the occupants of the Chevrolet were taken to the Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, there were four people in the truck. One of the back seat passengers of the Chevy was seriously injured. The driver and the passenger of the Toyota were also taken to the hospital.

The crash had closed off traffic of the two-lane highway for around forty-five minutes.  There was also another accident that was reported on the Route 76 Sunday morning.

Chief Schuler also said that a woman was also taken to the Palomar Medical Center with moderate injuries after that second crash on that Sunday. A woman who was heading East in a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup drove off the side of the road and went around a hundred feet down an embankment near Wilderness Gardens around 10:50 that morning.
