Car Hits Bicyclist
Car hits a Clovis man. Now friends and family are left to mourn his death. The car hit the bicyclist as he was riding his bicycle on a Wednesday morning. The Clovis police was called to the scene which was near Shaw and Highland.
Clovis Police Statement about the Crash:
About 6:06 this morning we received a report of a vehicle vs. a bicyclist accident, Right now we have both vehicles going in the same direction. So we essentially have a rear end accident. The complexity to it, is not only do you have a bicycle in a bicycle lane but you have a car that strikes him from behind in that bicycle lane. So part of the investigation is how did that vehicle get into the bicycle lane.
Police has determined that forty-nine year old, Patrick TeNyenhuis was hit by a car as he was riding his bicycle in the bike lane which was on Shaw Avenue. The man sadly died at the scene. The man was wearing a helmet. It’s unclear what caused the crash.
Police are still investigating the incident and trying to figure out what happened. So far they think that there was a driver of a Toyota sedan that hit the man, he stopped and luckily cooperated with the police. The man has not been charge with a crime at this time.

Student Goes to Hospital After Accident
A young student at CSU had to be transported to a local hospital after a vehicle accident at Kroll Way.
According to the Police Officer at the University, Jesus Navarrete, the UPD received a call of a vehicle versus a bicyclist accident on Tuesday. Officers had to be dispatched to the parking lot around 6:20 that evening.
According to Officer Navarrete the female bicyclist was traveling east on the westbound bike lane. The driver of the vehicle was exiting the K2 parking lot when they crashed.
The driver was trying to make a turn when she collided with the bicyclist.
The bicyclist received minor injuries but had to be transported to Mercy Southwest Hospital.
Both on scene officers do not think that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
