DUI Crash in Pasadena
Having lost a loved one in a total freak accident vehicle crash, a car crash or any type of crash scares me. A loss like that impacts you’re life and to know that some people just carelessly drink and drive irks me. How could you risk not only your own life, but everyone else’s on the road. There’s no excuse for that type of behavior.
A family recently lost a loved one after a tragic crash. The one that died was a father and a loving husband. He died during a crash involving a DUI.
The father, Chris Nelson was a father to four children. The father was innocently driving home from work on the eastbound 134, he sadly never made it back home to his family.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) the suspected drunk driver crashed into Nelson and then ran from his vehicle. The suspected driver also hit another car other than Nelson’s that night around 12:55 a.m. luckily the police was able to find him and arrest him later.
According to the reports, there were two eighteen year old women that had to be hospitalized. The forty-one year old husband sadly died at the scene of the crash.
His wife said that she and her husband had been married for sixteen years. Which now days is quite the achievement. They must have really loved each other.
She and her husband had worked hard to provide for their 18 month old son as well as their other three daughters. When Chris was younger his dad also died by a drunk driver. How tragic is that?
Chris, being a loving father often encouraged his daughters to try to excel in all aspects of life but especially in school sports.
His Daughter, Isabella’s Statement:
He would always want me to get better, and I did, and to always try my best.
The Nelson family has been getting a lot of loving support from their church, family, and friends. Of course, knowing that this tragic incident could have been prevented makes it that much harder for his family and friends to cope.
Erica’s Statement:
Everyone is just so devastated. And I just really want people to really think twice before getting in a car and not being coherent enough to drive a vehicle.
Someone has graciously set up a fund to help the family of Chris Nelson.
Suspected DUI Crash
Another sad car crash incident. Another that could have been prevented. A forty-one year old man was killed early one Sunday morning in a suspected DUI crash. The crash happened on the Eastbound 134 Freeway in Pasadena.
Police were responding to a traffic collision call that would involve three different vehicles on the Freeway. It was quite early in the morning, around 12:55 a.m. and sadly one of the drivers was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
There were two women involved in the crash. The young women were from Pasadena and Andover. They had to be transported to the Huntington Memorial Hospital. Both of the young women’s health conditions were unknown.
The police say that there was a twenty-four year old driver was identified as a resident of the Pasadena area, his name is Eduardo Macias. Macias was later caught by the California Highway Patrol officers and was arrested.
According to the investigating authorities, they believe that alcohol was a factor in this crash. There is now an ongoing investigation.
