Deadly DUI Crash

When driving, you always want to be aware of your surroundings, but you can’t really do that if you’re DUI. DUI means that you’re driving under the influence of something that impairs you’re ability to drive such as drugs or alcohol.

Recently a twenty-four year old woman has been charged with murder after she was suspected of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol and being involved in a crash that killed a forty-two year old man. The crash happened in 2016.

Twenty-four year old, Jacie Cornish was arrested on one count of murder in the collision that killed Jose Barrazasoto.

According to the reports, Cornish was driving a Hyundai sedan in the early morning hours of October 1, 2016 when she sadly collided into a Ford pickup truck who was being drove by Barrazasoto.

Barrazasoto sadly passed away at the scene of the crash. Cornish suffered from only minor injuries. Barrazosoto’s wife was also in the vehicle, she was also hurt during the crash.

DUI Test

Cornish was driving over 100 mph at the time of the crash according to the Sheriff’s department. She also had a blood alcohol level of 0.17 and trace amounts of marijuana in her blood.

Apparently this wasn’t the first time Cornish had been under the influence though. She had a previous DUI conviction in August 2015. She was eligible for “Watson Murder” charges.

DUI Flying Car Crash

Two people have sadly suffered injuries from a very different type of car accident. A car went airborne and then slammed into the second floor of a dental office in Santa Ana.

According to the Santa Ana police department, the driver of the vehicle was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the collision was reported shortly before 5:30 a.m. near the intersection of 17th and French streets.

The white Nissan Altima crossed three lanes on 17th before it hit a center divider, soared into the air and plowed into the two-story structure, the Orange County Fire Authority said.

The incident caused a small fire that injured one person, who managed to get out of the sedan unassisted, the OCFA said.

Firefighters responded to the scene and extinguished the blaze, then extricated a second person who was trapped inside the sedan.

Police say the center median had a dirt mound which likely contributed to the car launching into the air. They say no other vehicles were involved in the incident.
