Rapper, Gucci Mane Named in Protege’s Wrongful Death Lawsuit

The rapper, Gucci Mane whose real name is Radric Davis, is listed among the defendants named in a wrongful death lawsuit. Radric is now 33 years old. Gucci Mane has had quite the arrest record since 2001.

The Complaint was filed by Mark Hamilton, who is the father of the slain rapper Mario “Slim Dunkin” Hamilton. Mario was shot to death as he prepared for a video shoot with Gucci Mane.

A jury later found, Vinson Hardimon guilty of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and gun possession charges for shooting Mario during a fight over some candy. However, the jury acquitted the 29 year old Vinson, aka as the rapper “Young Vito” of murder and felony murder charges.

Hardimon was sentenced to 25 years in prison. He was also named with Gucci Mane as a defendant in the wrongful death lawsuit, along with ABC Corp., Warner Brothers Music International, and a few others.

The complaint stated that while Mario was preparing to shoot his part of the rap hip hop video when Hardimon or someone who was associated with him accused Mario of messing with Hardimon’s candy.The two men began to scuffle. When the two were separated, the unarmed Mario charged at Hardimon. Hardimon then shot and killed the 24 year old rapper, Mario.

It is unclear why Mario’s father is suing Gucci Mane, who was Mario’s hip hop mentor. Gucci Mane is currently in jail on gun charges and he faces federal gun charges as well as aggravated assault charges. Gucci Mane’s attorney was not available for a comment.
