Grandmother is Hero After Hit and Run

Family always comes first, they say the best thing in the world is having a grand child. That love and bond is one that will never be broken.

An eight year old little girl is now begging for help after she escaped some serious injuries. How? The selfless love of a Grandmother. Her Grandmother save her from a hit and run driver.

Emonie Baham has a fractured leg from being hit by a hit and run driver at the La Brea Avenue and Queen Street areas in Inglewood. It happened around five thirty in the morning.

Her fifty-five year old grandmother, Mae Baham, is now in a coma fighting for her life, since she save her precious Granddaughters.

Emonie’s Statement about Her Grandmother:

We just got hit and she pushed me out of the way so I wouldn’t get hit. She took the chance so she could get hit. I flew over the car and my leg started hurting.

The police say that Baham and her granddaughter were out for their walk. As they were walking in the crosswalk, the suspect then ran a red light.

Baham bravely pushed her granddaughter out of the way, taking most of the impact to her self. I’m betting not everyone would do that.

Local witnesses said the the driver of the vehicle had initially pulled over, however he then drove off.

Emonie’s Mother’s (Wykishia Smith)  Statement:

It’s one thing if you hit an adult, but you hit a child too. Not one person, but two people and did not stop. What kind of heart do you have? That’s not right and it’s not fair

The investigators say that the vehicle is being described as a dark green, possibly black Nissan Altima. The vehicle most likely has a lot of front end damage. As well as a busted up windshield. Police are reviewing the security camera’s now and are asking for everyone’s help. If you know anything about this case, please call (888) 412-7463.
