Police Searching for Hit and Run Driver
Early morning Monday traffic can usually cause some problems. People get in a hurry due to waking up late, kids delaying your routine, whatever the cause people seem either extremely rushed Mondays or falling asleep. This Monday morning, police were searching for a hit and run driver who critically injured a poor woman as she was crossing the street in South Los Angeles.
According to the reports from the Los Angeles Police Department as well as the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the woman was just walking home from work around 12:45 in the early morning. She was then struck by a vehicle in the 11400 block of Menlo Avenue, which happens to be west of the Imperial Highway. The female victim was immediately taken to the local hospital. At last report of her condition, she was still in critical condition.
Hit and Run Driver Flees Scene
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, leaving the woman injured on the sidewalk. The police has a description of the vehicle saying that they are looking for a vehicle that is dark in color. However, there are no other descriptions available of the vehicle. There was also no description of the driver at this time.
The road had to be temporarily closed while the police investigated for hopeful evidence. According to KTLA News, the road was re-opened around three:thirty in the morning. There were no further information available at the time.
If anyone has any information about this hit and run crash, please call the local authorities so whoever did this doesn’t get away with this or isn’t able to do this again to someone else. Please be careful during your early morning commutes. You never know who is behind the wheel of a vehicle that’s heading your way, especially in the heavy Los Angeles traffic. We don’t want any more tragic hit and run incidents.
