Fullerton Man Arrested For Fatal Hit and Run
A twenty-eight year old man from Fullerton has been arrested on the suspicion of crashing his vehicle into a man that was in a wheelchair. The incident killed the man in the wheelchair. The suspect then fled the scene in his Ford Explorer, according to the police.
According to the news release from the Fullerton Police Department, on Saturday, twenty-eight year old, Brandon Joel Busse was taken into custody. Brandon Busse allegedly drove into forty-nine year old Marc Borgfield in the 2600 block of West Orangethorpe Avenue just before midnight on August 18th.
According to the Police report, Brandon was charged with one felony count of "hit and run causing injury or death". The police also says that he is due to be arraigned on Tuesday morning in the Santa Ana court.
Police stated that Brandon Busse's late model white Ford Explorer had been discovered in the parking lot of a Tustin Motel. He was apparently staying at the motel. The late Mr. Borgfield's body had been found in the middle of the road and outside of a marked crosswalk. Mr. Borgfield (wheelchair victim) was pronounced dead at the scene of the hit and run incident. Borgfield's name was later released on August 20th.
According to the Orange County inmate records, Brandon Busse is being held at the Central Men's Jail on $50,000 bail.
