Metro Train Crash
Another investigation is underway after a motorcycle collided with a metro train in downtown Los Angeles. This happened early on Monday morning and ended up sadly killing the motorcycle driver.
The reports said that the crash happened near the intersection of South Flower Street and West Washington Boulevard. It was around 1:20 a.m. according to Capt. Al Lopez who is with the Los Angeles Police Department.
Capt. Lopez said that the motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was tragically dragged several blocks by the train.
The victim was described as a Hispanic man who was in his twenties. So young and so tragic.
The police haven’t said if speed was a contributing factor in the crash, however there are witnesses that say that the motorcycle was travelling close to 100 miles per hour. Which is pretty darn fast.
I saw a motorcyclist doing at least maybe 100, 110 going down Washington Boulevard. Light turned red, he couldn’t stop. Metro was going … he crashed into it … and the train took him.
Police aren’t sure if the motorcycle struck the front or the side of the Metro Train, according to Capt. Lopez. He also said that the train operator was at first, unaware of the crash.
Capt. Lopez says that the investigators are going to be relying on a video from the Metro Train as well as the surrounding buildings.
Investigators are reviewing the video from the Metro train now to try to see what they could find out. The Metro service was disrupted for the day as the investigation was going on.
If you’re out and about please be careful. Even if you’re driving cautiously, you have to watch for other people’s mistakes or wrongdoings. You never know when an accident could happen to you. Even on the prettiest days and in the lightest of traffic an accident can happen. Sadly a young man lost his life due to probable speed, it’s not worth the extra minute you’ll make or the possible life that you take.

If you or someone you love is the victim of a train-related accident, you may be entitled to legal recourse to recover compensation for health or financial damages. Due to lessened safety measures compared to other motor vehicles, it is not uncommon for injuries sustained during significant train-related accidents to be extreme. Life after a serious accident can be physically and emotionally challenging and navigating the legal process to obtain compensation can be frustrating.
