 Morning Crash Leaves One Injured and Causes a Road Closure

According to the local police, a crash between a motorcycle and sedan in the Carlsbad Boulevard Area caused quite a wake-up call for some. The Saturday morning crash, left a twenty-seven Carlsbad resident seriously injured. The crash even caused a four hour road closure.

According to the news report, a Carlsbad police sergeant had been performing a normal, morning traffic stop on Solamar Drive. He heard the crash around seven:forty-five in the morning and it was near the Solamar, Carlsbad Boulevard Intersection.

The on-duty sergeant rushed to provide medical attention to the man who had been ejected from his 2007 Suzuki Motorcycle. According to the police, an ambulance then took the injured motorcycle rider to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla for his treatment.

Motorcycle and Sedan Crash Injures Motorcycle Rider

The motorcycle and the sedan, a 2014 Ford Focus were both going north on Carlsbad Boulevard when the sedan had tried to make a right hand turn onto Solamar Drive. That is when the motorcycle driver crashed into the passenger door of the Focus. According to the police, the Focus was driven by a fifty-year old man from England.

The police investigated the crash and the did not find that alcohol was an issue in the crash. According to the report, the north lanes on Carlsbad Boulevard had to be closed from 7:45 in the morning until noon that day.  The police investigator and emergency crews had to investigate and clear the area.
