A Motorcycle Accident Temporarily Stops Portion of SR-67
On Saturday March 23, a motorcycle accident temporarily shut down a portion of State Route 67 in the Lakeside area. The CHP (California Highway Patrol) stated that the collision had involved one motorcycle but it was carrying two people. The crash took place at around two thirty that afternoon. It was on the southbound SR-67. That is near the West Foster Truck Trail and Vigilante Road.
According to the officials, both of the motorcycle riders were injured at the time of the crash. The California Highway Patrol Officials shut down the southbound lanes of traffic on the freeway right after the crash. The Emergency workers tended to the two people injured on the motorcycle and the California Highway Patrol crews had secured the scene and gathered some evidence.
The Heartland Fire and Rescue crews requested help from Mercy Air to transport the patients to the hospital. At three o’clock that evening, the southbound lanes were still closed. However, by four o’clock that evening the scene was basically cleared and the freeway was almost fully reopened. The lane where the accident occurred had remained closed however.
