California has a Multiple Motorcycle Crash
Police have asked for the public’s help in locating the driver of a black pickup truck. They think that the man intentionally hit a motorcycle. The incident triggered a chain reaction that injured at least six motorcyclists as well as two other people who was in a vehicle.
The motorcyclists were going westbound west of Irwindale Avenue on the Foothill (210) Freeway. They were travelling around 65 miles per hour when the black pickup truck swerved from the far left lane and then hit the motorcyclist who was in the far right lane. This information came from the California Highway Patrol.
The impact of the crash caused a chain reaction with the five other motorcyclists. Two of them hitting the BMW which was in the carpool lane.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers were quickly called to the scene around 7:05 p.m., The paramedics had to rush the six motorcyclists to the local hospital for their major injuries. Two passengers in the BMW had to be transported to the local hospital as well. However, the extent of their injuries were unknown.
Police are asking that any witnesses that might have saw the crash that they call the CHP’s Baldwin Park office at (626) 338-1164.
Pedestrian Struck by Motorcycle
On a Friday morning, according to the police, a pedestrian was fatally struck by a motorcycle in the Redondo Beach area.
The pedestrian’s age and gender wasn’t released at first. However, the person was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. According to reports from the Redondo Beach police officials, the incident happened very early in the morning around 5 a.m. at Torrance Boulevard and Camino Real.
The motorcyclist was not injured. The motorcyclist did the right thing and stayed at the scene and was interviewed by the police. Alcohol and drugs were not a factor in the crash.
Traffic had to be directed away from the crash so that the officials could investigate the crash. The police reported that the eastbound lanes and one of the westbound lane of Torrance Boulevard at Camino Real had to be closed for at least three hours for the initial investigation.
