Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle

A 65-year-old pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning in Salinas.

Around 4:27 a.m. police responded to a report of a traffic accident involving a pedestrian near East Market and Kings streets, according to police.

Emergency crews arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Police believe the victim was struck as he was crossing East Market Street. A small, white pick-up truck, possibly a Toyota, was seen leaving the area, according to police.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Salinas police at (831) 758-7250.

Pedestrian Struck By Ambulance

A pedestrian was struck by a San Francisco Fire Department ambulance near City College of San Francisco Tuesday morning, a fire department spokesman said.

The collision was reported at about 7:55 a.m. at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Howth Street, fire spokesman Jonathan Baxter said.

The ambulance crew was responding to a medical emergency and was going through the intersection when the vehicle struck a young woman walking across the street, Baxter said.

The woman suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital in stable condition, he said.

No one in the ambulance was hurt, according to Baxter.

About 10 minutes earlier, a fire department vehicle was involved in a separate collision near the Interstate Highway 280 off-ramp to Alemany Boulevard, Baxter said.

A support services van for the department collided with a motorcyclist at about 7:45 a.m. No injuries were reported in the crash, he said.

part 3

The accident was reported at about 2:30 p.m. near the corner of 46th Avenue and Fulton Street.

Officials said there was a 1-year-old child playing on the other side of the wall in her living room with her mom just before the car crashed into the residential building. “I don’t think she has any idea. She knows that she took a little ride and she looked at me with big eyes. It seemed like eight minutes, but it was only a couple of seconds and we just looked at each other, I grabbed her and ran,” Marilla Pulito said.

Police said the elderly man lost control of his car when he hit a man in his 20s on a sidewalk. The man was taken to a nearby hospital and is supposed to be OK.

The elderly man’s wife was also inside the car and both taken to the hospital.

At this time, police said they don’t believe alcohol and drugs were involved.

part 4

A pedestrian was in grave condition after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Saturday evening on a street in Canoga Park, according to authorities.

The collision happened about 6:45 p.m. on Saticoy Street, near Eton Avenue, where an unidentified person was crossing the roadway in the middle of the block, said Detective Bill Bustos of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.

The driver of a Toyota Camry did not stop after striking the pedestrian, who was not in a crosswalk at the time, Bustos said.

The victim was transported to a hospital but was not expected to survive, according to the LAPD.

Anyone with information about the incident was asked call the LAPD at 818-644-8000.

The Police Department’s hit-and-run reward program offers as much as $50,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of drivers in such incidents, Bustos said.
