Pickup Truck Slams into Apartment Building on Friday Morning
Friday morning is always busy and there’s always an extra chance of a wreck. Friday is actually probably more prone to any kind of accident. Everyone is always in a rush to get home and enjoy their weekend, Heck some people start their weekends a little early on Fridays.
This morning a pickup truck slammed into an apartment building in Van Nuys. The crash happened after the driver had apparently lost control of the pickup, according to the police. Luckily there were no injuries reported.
Emergency Crews Respond to Apartment Building/Pickup Crash
The Los Angeles Fire Department said that the firefighters were able to respond to the call after the incident happened around 5:43 in the morning. Talk about a bad wake-up call for those people in the building. The apartment complex is in the 13900 block of Vanowen Street. The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) officials also quickly notified the Department of Building and Safety.
There was a female driver in the pickup who was between the ages of thirty-five or forty years old. There was also a male passenger in the pickup at the time of the incident, according to Sgt. Matthew Jacobik from the Los Angeles Police Department. The woman had claimed “referenced vehicle mechanical issues” after the crash.
The truck had struck the northwest side of the building. The impact left a large hole in the corner of the building structure that could be seen from an aerial video. There is an ongoing investigation about this pickup truck crash.
So, luckily no one was injured although I’m sure the tenates of the building got the wake-up call of a life time Friday morning. Let’s hope the incident didn’t give anyone a heart attack.
