Road Rage Suspect Arrested
According to the local police, on Sunday a person has now been arrested for their connection in a road rage incident in the Jurupa Valley area. The incident left a fifty-five year old man dead.
According to the police department, the incident was a violent altercation that led to the death of Jerry Lakes. The incident happened on January 4th. The police deputies were able to respond to a report of two males fighting at four thirty in the evening. They were fighting at the intersection of Avenue Juan Bautista and Skyview Road. The police deputies got there within minutes of the call however the two drivers had already left the scene. The arrest has been confirmed by Deputy Michael Vasquez from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. However there was little details about the arrest.
Road Rage Victim Found Injured
It took hours before one of the men (Identified as the victim) checked himself into a local hospital. Although, it took him several days to do so. The inured man complained of pain that he had gotten from the fight. Lakes' medical condition quickly went down hill, he later died due to his extensive injures from the fight.
Officials from the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit and the Jurupa Valley station then took over so that they could start their investigation. The other driver in the altercation was described as a Hispanic Male who was in his thirties. He had been driving a light colored Jeep Liberty SUV.
At the traffic checkpoint on January 18th, the sheriff’s personnel handed out fliers that described the incident and what the suspect looks like.
