Man Acting As Police Officer Assaulting Women
On Wednesday, police investigators were searching for a man who is impersonating a police officer. The police impersonator is wanted for the sexual assault of a female motorist that happened last month in the Corona area. According to the news release from the Corona Police Department, the sexual attack happened around two:thirty in the morning. It happened around the area of the Railroad Avenue near Sheridan Street.
There was a woman who was pulled over by the man who was wearing a uniform and driving a dark-colored vehicle. The vehicle had a spotlight on the vehicle and also has a forward facing red light mounted on it as well. According to the police release. The woman victim said that the man had acted like a police officer. The release also said that the man had directed her to drive a short distance away and then to “park on a dark street” that is where he then forcibly assaulted her inside of his vehicle.
Male Suspect of Sexual Assault’s Description
The male police impersonator was described as a Hispanic adult male who is in his late thirties. He’s approximately six foot tall and “large build”. The male also had short dark hair and was wearing a dark colored uniform. The woman told the police investigators that she didn’t see any type of police insignia on his uniform or the car. There was also no sign of police equipment inside of the car. That should have been the first sign for the woman to leave the situation as soon as possible. I can’t imagine how scared she was.
If anyone has any information about this male suspect, please call Gail Gottfried at 951-279-3623 who is Senior Detective at the police department.
