Motorist Cuts Off a Pickup Driver and Ends Up in The Hospital
Last Sunday a Motorist was sent to the hospital after being hit by a truck driver. Police believe that the motorist, who cut off the driver of a GMC Sonoma, ended up in the hospital due to a fit of road rage.
According to L.A.P.D. the driver of the pickup did not stop or report the accident, the pickup driver is now behind bars. What was a collision case is now a case of felony hit-and-run.
According to L.A.P.D. statement the accident occurred around 3:25 p.m. when the motorcycle “abruptly conducted a lane change in front of the pick-up truck.” They were both heading towards North Hollywood. The white Sonoma collided with the bike severely injuring the rider. The driver of the truck took off.
Police report read-
The driver of the pick-up truck was followed by a witness. The driver left the pick-up abandoned and fled on foot.
The Police said that the motorist/victim was a 44 year old from North Hollywood and was in stable condition at the hospital. When asked, Officer Borihahn if the detectives think that this was a hit and run or if the driver hit the biker on purpose, his answer was " We do no know if he hit him on purpose or not." The department on the other hand said that the collision was a case of “road rage”
The suspect was identified as the 39 year old Mauricio Lopez of Sun Valley, he was tracked down and arrested on suspicion of a felony hit-and-run and jailed. According to L.A.P.D. bail is $50,000.
