Truck Overturns and Covers The Road with Oranges
Talk about an unusual morning. Most people like a little orange juice in the morning, however they probably don’t want the whole freeway covered with oranges on a daily basis. Luckily, it’s not an often re-occurrence. On a Tuesday morning in North San Diego County a road was covered in oranges. What happened? A Truck’s trailer overturned which ended up spilling the fruit all over the street, by all over I mean it was thousands of Oranges.

The trailer tipped over in the 36800 block of Pala-Temecula Rd. in the Pala area just before 9:30 in the morning. At least it was after the morning rush hour, didn’t give them long to clean the mess up before the lunch rush though. Aerial photos from above the incident showed that the fruit had spilled from dozens of secured bins on the tipped over trailer. There was actually so many oranges that the aerial photos made the roads look a very bright orange instead of it’s usual earth tones.
The CHP (California Highway Patrol) officials had to shut down the southbound traffic way at Pechanga Parkway and Pala-Temecula Road which is at the Deer Hollow Way, just after the spill. There was also a SigAlert issued for the area.
Luckily no one was injured in the truck trailer roll over. However, according to the officials the accident was still under investigation at the time. Hopefully the following morning there were no more fruit truck accidents in the area. Although that does make for an interesting morning, but I’m pretty sure everyone involved would agree that they would rather have their Orange Juice in a glass instead of all over the road, disturbing their morning routines.
